But generic job boards made it nearly impossible to filter by organisation size, sector, or previous placements. The process was time-consuming, inconsistent, and while the process was successful for the time it took, it offered little commercial value.
There was no way to surface roles from companies the agency had previously worked with, nor to flag high-fit opportunities they’d missed. In short, valuable leads were slipping through the cracks and sales teams didn’t have the data they needed to act at the right time.

The Process
The project started with mapping out how recruiters were currently finding leads, trawling job boards. The majority of adverts they found were often irrelevant, duplicated, or from competitors. The fix? Automate the legwork and add real intelligence.
The result was a tailored web app that let sales and recruiters explore only high-fit roles filtering by prior placements, role type, and even direct competitors of clients.
The platform now runs daily, scraping the previous 24 hours of job ads and, more recently, matches submitted candidates to roles automatically, so consultants walk in each morning to a lead list they can act on immediately.
Conclusion
This project worked because it tackled the core inefficiency head-on: recruiters shouldn’t be spending hours chasing leads through generic job boards. By deeply understanding the client’s ICP and building a tool tailored to real-world sales workflows, the solution didn’t just surface opportunities — it delivered qualified leads that teams could act on instantly.
